ABOUT ME:
Thank you for visiting my page! My name is Mrs. Trisha Barnes and I am the school counselor for Little Cypress Intermediate. This will be my 9th school year as LCI Counselor. Prior to becoming a counselor, I taught 7th grade science for 8 years. I loved being a classroom teacher, but I now get the amazing opportunity to help students in a whole new way.

This school year marks an exciting transition for our campus as we welcome 3rd grade and officially become a 3rd-5th grade school. I'm thrilled to support all of our students-both returning and new-as we grow together in this next chapter.

As school counselor, my goal is to facilitate the personal, social and academic success of all students. I collaborate with administrators, teachers, parents/guardians, students and community members to help promote a positive and productive learning environment.

If you have a returning student, ask them about the monthly counselor lessons. One of my favorite parts of my job is teaching social-emotional skills to ALL of our students.

So far, my counseling career has included multiple catastrophic weather events and a global pandemic. One thing I've learned over the last few years is how resilient our students, staff, parents and community can be when faced with adversity.
